I was trying to remember when/why I first started writing poetry.

So I looked through some early ones (ahem, no, you can’t see them. I was 16.) and realized they were all about expressing frustration. Mostly frustration with the gamey people around me. I have had to learn that most people lie regularly (usually first to themselves). At the time I had yet to understand that. Not that understanding helps much…

And then I came across this quote from Hemingway:

Writers are forged in injustice as a sword is forged.
